CHILD & YOUTH

Experience assessing and treating children and adolescents with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD), receptive and expressive language difficulties, speech sound disorders, childhood apraxia of speech (CAS), fluency disorders, social communication needs, ASD, and developmental delays. Experienced in individualized play-based and structured intervention, AAC support, and parent/caregiver coaching.

ADULT

Experience supporting adults with speech sound disorders, fluency disorders, aphasia, apraxia of speech, dysarthria, cognitive-communication difficulties, and dysphagia, with a focus on functional communication and swallowing needs in everyday environments.

Insurance Coverage

No doctor's referral is necessary. Speech therapy provided by a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) are not covered under OHIP but are covered by many extended health benefit plans or Ontario Autism Program (OAP) Services. You may be eligible for health insurance reimbursement if your insurance plan/OAP covers speech therapy with a Registered SLP or SLPA (with Master Level). Please contact your benefit providers cover speech therapy if you are eligible for reimbursement.

Payment

To help us offer consistent and dedicated care, payment is kindly requested 48 hours prior to your session via e-transfer (No administrative fee) to karenlifetherapy@gmail.com. Payment is required prior to your appointment to confirm your booking. An official insurance receipt including therapist's registration number will be issued upon completion of your scheduled session. We appreciate your support in completing payment before your appointment, as this helps us reserve and prepare your session time for you.

Debit/Credit Card Payment Option

In-Person Card Payments: A standard administrative fee of 2.6% (applicable to tap/insert Visa or Mastercard via terminal)

Online / Payment Link: A standard administrative fee of 6% (applicable to remote credit card payments via secure payment links)

Session Timing and Scheduling
There may be occasions where minor delays occur between scheduled sessions. In such cases, the therapist and client will mutually discuss and verbally agree on how any lost time will be addressed, including options such as extending a session or adjusting future scheduling where appropriate. Any agreed adjustments will be documented in the client’s clinical record.

Attendance & Cancellation Policy

As session times are reserved specifically for you, psychotherapy services are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend, please email or call our admin team or your therapist at least 24 hours before your appointment so we can reschedule your appointment. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice, arriving more than 15 minutes late, or no-shows will be charged the full session fee. We encourage clients to review our terms and policies carefully before booking, and we are always happy to answer any questions you may have in advance.
